Years One and Two Classes |
Lower Key Stage Two |
Key Stage Leader: Miss E Marlow |
Years Three and Four Classes |
Upper Key Stage Two |
Key Stage Leader: Mr S Tubb |
Years Five and Six Classes |
We have capacity for three form entry currently operating with: two classes in Foundation Stage, four classes in Key Stage One, four classes classes in Lower Key Stage 2 and four classes in Upper Key Stage Two.
The school has been cleverly designed to maximise all the benefits of a large school and yet retain a small school atmosphere, with the buildings arranged into five separate units, each named by our school council after one of the continents of the world:
Each unit houses five classrooms arranged around a central area, for small group working. Each classroom also has a set of Chromebook’s that children use as part of their learning. Each classroom is named after a city from the continent in which the classroom is located. Separate cloakroom areas and toilet facilities serve each of the five units.
Antarctica: Foundation Stage
The Reception children start their time at Oak Tree in a separate dedicated building named ‘Antarctica’. They also have their own large playground that is separate from the other year groups. As the year progresses, they are gradually introduced to other areas around the school building.
Australia and Africa: Key Stage One Hub (Years 1/2)
Children in Years 1 & 2 are mixed with our exciting new continuous provision classrooms spread across two units ‘Australia’ and ‘Africa’. These double sized classrooms allow plenty of space for the children to continue to learn through play and exploration. This Key Stage One Hub is something we are proud to have introduced from September 2024 after thorough research and planning. Each Key Stage One Hub also has its own Thrive Room.
Europe: Lower Key Stage Two (Year 3 and 4)
Pupils in Lower Key Stage 2 are in our ‘Europe’ unit. They also have their own breakout teaching room for small group work with teaching assistants and interventions.
Asia: Upper Key Stage Two (Year 5 and 6)
Years 5 & 6 (Upper Key Stage 2) are in ‘Asia’.
