Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, governors, and volunteers at Oak Tree Primary School are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We work together with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure every child in our care is protected from harm.
Key Safeguarding Principles
Our safeguarding approach is underpinned by the following principles:
-
The Child’s Welfare is Paramount: Every decision made is in the best interests of the child.
-
All Children Have a Right to Protection: This includes being safe from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm.
-
Early Intervention is Essential: Identifying and addressing issues at the earliest opportunity ensures better outcomes for children.
-
Transparency and Partnership: We work openly with children, families, and external agencies to foster trust and collaboration.
Online Safety
We understand the importance of teaching children how to stay safe online. Our curriculum includes:
-
Age-appropriate lessons on internet safety
-
Awareness of online bullying, scams, and exploitation
-
Guidance on the safe use of technology and social media
Parents and carers are also provided with resources to support online safety at home.
